Thanks to Mary for posting the links on her site, and for giving me something to do for 10 minutes before class. =)

Well, since I have a few minutes....two updates from me in the span of 3 days - can any of you take it??? =) What have I been up to? Saturday night I made my fourth Spring Break trip up to Syracuse - wow, does my car love that place! Crystal and I decided to go and visit Beta Epsilon, which, as I suspected it would be, was a lot of fun. Mary is the best! I really love visiting brothers from other chapters because not only are they cool, they also offer a different perspective and it always makes me think about ways in which our chapter can improve. Yay for that.

Sunday....I tried to get some work done, really I did! I don't know what made me so motivated at the beginning of Spring Break, because I've gone back to my lazy self and that needs to stop! Also managed to be late to the PSP meeting - Vinny, Adam and I used "menage a trois" as our excuse and actually got little response - apparently everyone was still asleep. *sigh* At least I felt good in knowing I fed Adam and Vinny, and that's why I was late! Vinny and I went back to her apt to watch the Oscars, but ended up having a really productive conversation with Crystal and Adam about frat stuff. It was great!

Back to class yesterday....I went to hear Mae Jemison speak, which wasn't as good as I thought it would be. She gave a phenomenal speech two years ago and I thought this one was kinda week comparatively. And then Vinny made me steak! It was delicious. More discussions ensued and we invited Crystal over later to give us more ideas - and Crystal's car got towed!!! It was a very unfortunate situation, especially since Crystal has been through so much! Poor girl. I was of course perfectly willing to help Crystal out but got home much later than anticipated and proceeded to get, surprise, no work done. Ahh well. Next three days will be all optimization, all the time! As if that's really a surprise, either.

Two potentially stressful emails got sent out Sunday night. One of them is panning out well, I think, and the issues will be addressed. The other....I can only hope it's panning out. Haven't gotten a response back from it. That is one thing I hate about email - when it's about something important, it become so, so, SO stressful! Yikes! At least my emails have become more toned down and I'm not addressing problems in them, which I have found is bad, very bad. Hopefully the second email works out well. That would be very good.

So, I've been meaning to do an update all of Spring Break, but each time I think to actually sit down and write, I'm way too tired to type for as long as I know I want to here. I'm still too tired, but we'll try it anyhow. =)

I haven't been too loyal of a writer this semester. I found over break that there have been a million things I've been wanting to do, including write in this thing, but even though they'd only take a few minutes, I haven't been able to find the few minutes. I made a Spring Break To-Do List and right at the beginning, I was flying through all of the things I needed to do! It was amazing - I kept saying to myself, that only took a few minutes, why didn't I get that done weeks ago like I wanted to? Ahh well. When you don't have any time, sparing 5 minutes of your standard procrastination time is torture, apparently. =)

My break was actually supposed to be spent mostly in DC. BUT.....cancelled. =( I knew I was spending the weekends here, and I was looking forward to that, because I like it when it's quiet here. QUIET I found out is very different from DEAD, though. I did enjoy having the apartment to myself. I did some much needed cleaning -dusting and such, just the way my mom taught me (and she thought I never paid attention to any of that!). I wasn't actually looking forward to leaving so much anyways - last Thursday, when I was saying goodbye to everyone since I was going to Virginia and they'd all be gone by the time I got back on Friday, I felt this paranoia thing - it was just like I felt every time I had to go back to CT last semester, like I was going to be apart from my friends for a long, long time! A week isn't very long at all, and considering how much time I spent chatting with my friends anyways....totally irrational of me! Being here didn't change anything - no one else was around. Dahlia came back on Tuesday, which made me glad I was going to Buffalo for a few days (that was kinda dull, but good to see my aunt and my very old-acting cousin). Since I've been back (Thursday afternoon) all we've done is kinda invade each other's space, more so than when the rest of the apartment is here! She's kinda demanding on me to do things and I haven't been in a hurry to do anything, so it's a bit annoying.

Speaking of the apartment....living with 5 other girls isn't bad so much, but I think the apartment is a bit too small for all of us. The kitchen definitely is. Basically, only one person can be in there cooking at any given time, which doesn't provide for letting everyone cook their own dinner, normally. And I get told to shut my door all the time! I know that people want to feel comfortable in the living room, our "common space," but I hate being shut up in my room! I've never actually liked it, and it's always bothered me when previous roommates have shut the door on me. Grrrr. Ohh, and Dahlia made a comment that she doesn't like when I do work in the living room, because sometimes she wants to eat and eating should take precedence over anything else at the table. Ummm....don't I live here too???

I should say that the interview in Virginia went well, but I didn't get the position. =/ Regardless....I got to Richmond, was picked up at the airport, taken to a nice Hilton (queen size bed and everything) and then proceeded to call Ithaca. =) The day of the interview, they picked a bunch of us up again and brought us to the site. Capitol One had mini gift baskets for us and we each had our own interview room - it was great. The other candidates were really nice too! And let's not forget that it was about 70 degrees there - ohh! It's very sad that I didn't get the position because now I have to go back to the horrendous state of CT. GGGAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Other gripes: VERIZON WIRELESS. I had to change my cell phone number TWICE this week. I was driving to Buffalo on Tuesday, and tried to make a phone call. Only, I couldn't. I got some message about needing to enter my card number. WHAT??? So upon arriving at my aunt's house, I called my "friends" at Verizon and explained this to them and asked what was up with me not being able to make any calls. They informed me that the 592 exchange was for prepaid only, and that they'd have to change my phone number. The catch? They didn't have any local numbers available. I informed the very rude lady that it was unacceptable for me to not have a local number (since I only have the cell phone, no lan-based line) and we proceeded to argue for several minutes before I just told her that I would keep the other number and deal with it until I could get a better local number. She then informed me that my number had already been changed (at this point I was really glad she wasn't in front of me - I would have strangled her) and gave me a Cortland number. Isn't that what I had before I changed it? Yuck. So I sent out an email to my friends telling them about the change. Wednesday, I called back and explained my story to a different, much nicer lady, who went and looked for an Ithaca number for me. She found one, the only catch being that the 275 exchange isn't caller ID capable, so I was faced either with a non-local number or no caller ID. I miss caller ID, but....what can you do? I then sent out a new email, and felt pretty horrible for flooding everyone's inbox!

All right....up until now, I've sucessfully avoided talking about PSP stuff. You gotta be proud of that, just because normally I can't think of anything else to talk about! Have I mentioned how much I love that frat? And why do I love it so much? My wonderful friends (aka, family away from home). If you're wondering what I'm up to normally, it's most likely frat stuff. I have a HUGE weakness when it comes to PSP events, and try to miss as little as possible. At the beginning of the semester, I was saying that I was making up for an entire semester (the fall, obviously) but I think that's a little overdone now. I want to be around these people because in so many ways they are so inspiring to me and I think they bring out a really good side of me. They're all so intelligent, and not just in the "I did well on my test" way. Their ideas and dreams and goals....it's great! We just got a new class of Initiates and they're great! I have two littles - Rachel and Irving. YAY for Rachel and Irving! My goal is to be an awesome big and continue my wonderful lineage. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the semester!

I have written a lot, so I hope you'll all forgive me for leaving you now. I'm very tired - I played Risk with Crysal and Herb last night and won (all right, so Crystal and I ganged up on Herb, and when Herb took over Crystal's game, I had such a better position that he never had a shot!), but that resulted in me being up until 5:30am (as I told Adam, I need to get back on my regular sleep schedule - little to no sleep). I also am on my last bit of airport duty - I'm picking up Will and Jamie on my fourth trip to Syracuse in 8 days (this time I'm visiting Beta Epsilon brothers, so it's worthwhile!) - so I'll have to leave at some point today. I probably won't get anything done today, though, *sigh*....My bed is looking really comfortable right about now..... =)

I'm a slacker, I know. =) Where oh where has Liz been in the past two weeks? Well....she had some tests.....and she skipped classes several days because she has taken to going out for breakfast (what is she thinking???) and of course she's been chillin with her wonderful Phi Sigma Pi brothers. =) The weekend was great - Founders Day weekend was packed with a multitude of activities and we hung out with some great brothers from RIT (Delta Alpha) and Syracuse (Beta Epsilon). I made a rain maker and one of the sand things at Cabin Fever (and sno-cones!!!). Dinner at Rulloff's was very yummy, since they have great food. Our Founders Day party had so many people there!!! And yay for our potluck....mmm....garlic bread (my contribution). I'm very tired, though, and have a ton of work to do. And it all ends on Wednesday, just in time for me to fly to Virginia for my Capitol One interview on Thursday. But then Spring Break!!! I'm going to try and do a very large update then, since I'll have the time. I'm going to DC for part of break, but will be around some, too (which is good because I like being in Ithaca when it's quiet). But for now....back to slaving away I go....

Ohh! Thanks to Rachel for linking me through her site. =) Here's a link to hers (I hope she doesn't mind!): http://ache.blogspot.com
