As promised, a picture from Friday night's Cornell-Harvard hockey game. As you can see, Cornell won. :-D

I'd been wanting to go to this yearly game for the last 3 years now (yes, that was BEFORE I moved to Boston). This was the first time I actually managed to get tickets, since that proves to be a challenge. This year, tickets were supposed to go on sale on October 5th at 10:00am. The Harvard Ticket Office, in its infinite wisdom, released them online at midnight that day. Oops. Anyway, I got an email telling me this and was able to pick up 8 tickets broken into 3 groups. Susan's friend Jordan got 9 tickets, and I actually took one of those, and handed out the 8 tickets I purchased to various people - Corinne and Ron, Kate and friend, Corinne's coworker and guest, Susan's roomate and boyfriend. The game was amazing. I'm sure if you're super interested, you can find a recap, but the gist is that Cornell scored twice in the last 5 minutes, and then had to kill a penalty in the last two minutes, to win. Wow.

As I had heard, the game was sold out, mostly to Cornell fans, hehehe, plenty of whom I recognized, even if I don't know them (okay, I know Ben and Anthony - and Patrick, Eryk and Rosanne were there as well). I've actually never seen so many empty seats at a game, though - apparently this is partly attributed to Harvard giving away 300 tickets to their students to entice them to the game (give it up, Harvard, it didn't work). Harvard's pep band was there, and well as their one section of fans. Yes, one section. No wonder we call it Lynah East.

Harvard had some great cheers, though, let me tell you. Highlights (imagine in sing-songy voice):
"You'll work for us"
"Hotel Management"
"SUNY Cornell"
Something about them having 3 points, which is a field goal, us having 2 points (when we had 2 points), which is a safety - "Safety School!"

In addition to the numerous empty seats, there were several differences between Bright and Lynah. First, people were sitting (can you imagine???). There was also very little security, no one checking tickets for the sections, and no crackdown on language (in fact, Harvard chants "Bullshit" when one of their players gets a penalty).

After the game, we went to John Harvard's (we weren't able to go before the game because Kat, Jordan & Co. didn't get in until right before the game), where we had Lucas Lager, which was quite good for a beer. I then mentioned to Susan and Kat (my former roomies) that the liquor store near Susan's has Lambic in several flavors, causing Susan to hurry people out of the bar so we could get to the liquor store in time (framing: Susan, Kat, Heather and I used to occasionally go to the Chapter House to get Raspberry Lambic on tap when we lived together, so it was part of our reminiscing). We didn't share with the boys, but did introduce it to Jess, who was part of the "and Co." I mentioned before, and Susan's roommate Caitlyn (who enjoyed the game, even though she didn't go to Cornell).

Saturday night was Aerosmith. I may post about that later, in though I do not have pictures.
